The other day my brother called me and asked me what my prices are because one of his friends is getting married. So I tell him my prices and then he starts asking questions about what goes into all of what I do. So I start to explain what I will explain below. He had no idea, and it helped him to understand all that his little sister does :)
I am not writing this to clarify/justify why I charge what I charge, but to simply tell you what you are paying for. There's a lot more to it than just applying makeup to someone's face.
Let's start at the beginning. I am just going to put out the facts first and then go into further detail :)
Renew License(s)--$50+ every year
Continuing Education and Make Up Shows--$2,000 year
Make Up Supplies & Re-stock---$500+ quarterly
Advertising-$400-$1200 year Insurance-$400 year
In the state of Florida, you have to be a Licensed Esthetician or Cosmetologist to do free lance makeup. That all requires an education and renewing your license every year. My team and I also attend a lot of makeup events/training/shows throughout the year. We go to the IMATS (International Makeup Artists Trade Show). That is where all of the top make up artist in the world come to do classes and seminars. To be the best, you must be trained by the best!
Now when it comes to re-stocking makeup, that's an entirely different story! We only use top quality makeup , which we have to re-stock and maintain. For example, between each client we clean our brushes with a special solution, and we use a lot of disposables to keep everything sanitary. Along the lines of products we use, we have to make sure you are photo ready and primed and ready to go! The makeup we use will last all night long and photograph beautifully!
We are all about making you the most beautiful version of yourself and enhancing what you already have :)
It is a talent we take very seriously & have continually worked hard to perfect it over the years. We absolutely love what we do and we wouldn't do anything else.
I hope the rhythm of our days make a little bit more sense. If you are a makeup artist in training and have any questions, please feel free to email me or contact me on Facebook! www.facebook.com/beautifulfacesbyerin or email firstname.lastname@example.org
