I was asked to do a tutorial about the make up look that I have done on myself. So here it goes! I'll post pictures of the products I used and try to explain it the best that I can! It's a very natural look that you can do everyday, and I love it!
1. It is so important to start with a good moisturizer before your make up application. I have oily skin, so I use a moisturizer that helps to slow down the production of oil on my face throughout the day. It is called Enzymion by Lush Cosmetics. It really works well. It helps with the oil and allows my skin to breathe throughout the day.
2. After the moisturizer is applied, I used my concealer under my eyes, and on any blemishes that need to be hidden. It's Light Disappear- by Jane Iredale. This concealer can hide just about everything! I've used it on tattoo cover ups, scars.. everything! I am in love with this concealer. It stays put all day (with no primer) and the cover it puts on the skin is flawless.
5. For an eyeliner, I actually used a black eyeshadow. Using an eyeshadow as an eyeliner, is a much softer look. If you don't want a harsh line, then this will be perfect for you. You can use any black eyeshadow to achieve this look. I use the one from Stila (the blue palette-In the Moment). All you need is an angled eyeshadow brush to apply. And of course for mascara, I used Lashblast by CoverGirl (see previous post for more information)
6. Now some of you may be wondering what a blush & bronzer combo is-- let me explain! If you want to add some dimension to your face, you need to try this! Take your bronzer and apply it to the apple of your cheek and carry it up to your ear. Then take your blush and apply it just to the apple of your cheek. This adds an extra pop of color and it's a beautiful combo! Be sure to blend, blend, blend! It will finish it beautifully! I know you can do it! As far as where to apply Highlighter, it goes directly above your cheekbones. Yes, you can apply it to other places (nose, forehead between the eyes, chin), but I tend to be oily so I avoid those places. In the photo of this look you can see where I have put it and use that as a guide. I apply the highlighter with my fingers. I feel it gives me more control. That will be up to you. However, it is the only time I use my hands to apply makeup!! Everything else I use brushes/applicators! Jane Iredale is my product choice for blush, bronzer and highlighter.
As for my lips, I just had on some light tinted lip moisturizer. I hope you enjoyed the breakdown of this look! I will try to do more of these :) If you have any questions, feel free to email me! firstname.lastname@example.org
